Coaches Code

  • Coaches shall put the welfare of their athletes above all else while maintaining professional relationships with them.
  • Coaches shall encourage all athletes to exhibit excellent sportsmanship at all times.
  • Coaches will not discriminate for or against an athlete on the basis of race, religion, age, ethnic origin, or physical disability.
  • Coaches will give all players fair opportunity for playing time.
  • Coaches should be aware that they are representing Riptide Softball Association and its members and should be professional in their attire, mannerisms, and language
  • Coaches will not speak poorly about another team,coach,player or association
  • Concerns about rules, umpires, other coaches will be addressed with a Riptide softball association board member

Treatment of Umpires

  • All game umpires shall be treated with the utmost respect at all times.
  • It is a coaches responsibility to inform parents of new/learning umpires and to ensure that all parents and spectators  show respect to the officials during and after the game.
  • If you have an issue with an umpires ruling please approach the umpire calmly and respectfully to discuss the issue
  • Coaches must remember that an umpires ruling is final.  
  • Any displeasure or major complaint with an umpire’s actions or conduct shall be addressed through the Riptide Softball Association
